Dogs sleep for long periods but in short cycles, and their sleep tends to be light without reaching deep sleep. They usually wake up every hour or so, only entering the first stages of sleep. This is due to their physiological structure, which evolved for vigilance against threats in the wild. Although domesticated dogs live with humans now, this instinct remains.
Traditional elevated dog beds use metal frames and mesh fabric to simulate ground-level rest. But on flat surfaces, dogs still struggle to fall into deep sleep. The deep sleep stage is crucial for restoring a dog’s bodily functions. Lack of deep sleep can lead to poor concentration, weakened memory, and lower immunity in dogs. As responsible dog parents, we ought to consider how to help dogs overcome their instincts and achieve deep sleep on an elevated bed.
VEEHOO Research and Development
VEEHOO listens closely to animals’ sleep needs, dedicated to innovating pet bed designs. To address the inability of traditional elevated beds to induce deep canine sleep, VEEHOO created a womb-shaped bed. This bed mimics the mother’s womb while offering sturdiness, easy installation, and adaptation to uneven terrain.
Womb-shaped Bed
Pregnant mother dogs carry their puppies in a curved belly, keeping them warm and cozy. Puppies are born with an innate comfort and security associated with this shape. To enable healthy sleep like that in the womb during growth, our designers carefully observed and measured the curve of pregnant dogs’ abdomens, feeding the data into our elevated bed R&D.
Our designers also analyzed adult dogs’ varied sleeping postures. Through continuous experiments, we found our curved bed accommodates different sleep positions.
If your dog sleeps with positions like COMFORTABLE、RESTING、RECHAREGING、COOLING OFF or BONDING, our curved bed allows its ribs to align naturally with the shape for carefree comfort.
If your dog sleeps in a position like KEEPING WARM, our curved bed provides a sense of being wrapped up, carefree yet secure.
Sturdiness
To bear the curved side rails’ load, we bent the legs 120 degrees to cling tightly to the rails, transferring force downwards most efficiently vs. vertical legs.
The 0.4-inch tubing of both side rails and legs ensures ample load-bearing capacity. The X-Large size can withstand over 70kg, 20% above its 55kg rating.
Effortless Installation
Many may think pet bed installation requires male strength. However， VEEHOO’s design thoughtfully considers females’ needs， enabling easy independent assembly.
Adapting to Uneven Terrain
The adjustable paw pads accommodate varied terrain by tweaking slopes in real-time.
They work on flat indoor floors but also uneven outdoor areas like sand, mud, and grass. Indoors or on mud, the pads can maximize flat contact to avoid sinking. On grass or sand, they tilt up at the top and down in gaps.
